The CPSD certification requires passing two exams: the Supply Management Core exam and the Essentials in Supplier Diversity exam. The Supply Management Core exam is 180 questions with a time limit of 3 hours (180 minutes), plus an additional 15 minutes for a tutorial, totaling 3 hours and 15 minutes of seat time. The Essentials in Supplier Diversity exam is 150 questions with a time limit of 2 hours and 45 minutes (165 minutes), plus a 15-minute tutorial, totaling 3 hours of seat time.

There are two exams for the CPSD certification. The Supply Management Core exam has 180 questions (165 scored). The Essentials in Supplier Diversity exam has 150 questions (150 scored).

Exam scores are reported on a scaled score from 100 to 600. The passing score for both the Supply Management Core exam and the Essentials in Supplier Diversity exam is a scaled score of 400 or higher for the Core exam and 480 or higher for the Essentials in Supplier Diversity exam.

The ISM CPSD exams are online proctored. You can take the exam securely from your home or office through Pearson VUE's OnVUE online proctoring service, where you will be monitored by a live proctor via webcam.

To be eligible for the CPSD certification, candidates must meet one of the following experience and education combinations: 1) Three years of professional (non-clerical, non-support) supplier diversity or supply management experience with a regionally accredited bachelor's degree or international equivalent, OR 2) Five years of professional (non-clerical, non-support) supplier diversity or supply management experience without a bachelor's degree.

The CPSD certification covers two exams: the Supply Management Core and the Essentials in Supplier Diversity. The Supply Management Core exam covers sourcing, category management, negotiation, legal and contractual aspects, supplier relationship management, cost and price management, and financial analysis. The Essentials in Supplier Diversity exam focuses specifically on supplier diversity topics, including policies and planning, sourcing/supplier development, finance/budgeting, metrics/oversight, training and development, and advocacy/marketing/outreach.

The ISM CPSD certification is valid for three years. To maintain the credential, you must complete 60 hours of approved continuing education hours (CEHs) within each three-year recertification cycle.

The exams are computer-based and administered through Pearson VUE testing centers or via online proctoring. The exams consist of multiple-choice questions.

ISM recommends using their official study materials, such as the self-study CPSD Learning System. This system includes reading materials and practice exams designed to help candidates prepare for both the Supply Management Core and Essentials in Supplier Diversity exams. For candidates already holding a CPSM or C.P.M. certification, the Essentials in Supplier Diversity Learning System is recommended.
