Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification exam equips you with the basic knowledge of Six Sigma and develops process maps to support Six Sigma projects but do not lead the project. As a Yellow Belt certified professional, you work as a team member or subject matter expert on one or multiple projects. Also, you may be assigned the responsibility to run small process improvement projects using PDCA (plan, do check, act) methodology. These small Yellow Belt projects get accelerated to Green Belt or Black Belt level. At this stage, the DMAIC technique is used to enhance profits by cost savings using statistical process control. It helps in the identification of the processes that can get benefitted from improvement.

There are two different paths to getting certified. One is for trained candidates who have an in-depth understanding of the Yellow Belt certification topics. They can take the comprehensive online exam in one go only. However, candidates in the training phase can opt for several short exams that progress through the different sections. So if you are new to this methodology or want to reduce examination costs can opt for the second method.
