The cost for the ASQ CCT exam is typically $447 for non-members and $347 for ASQ members. Retakes cost $247. Exam fees for certifications vary by country and also influenced by local taxes and currency exchange rates.

For the computer-based test, the total appointment time is four-and-a-half hours (270 minutes), with the exam time being 4 hours and 18 minutes (258 minutes).

The computer-delivered CCT exam consists of 135 multiple-choice questions. Of these, 125 questions are scored, and 10 are unscored pretest questions used for future exam development.

A candidate needs a score of 550 points out of a possible 750 to achieve certification.

The ASQ CCT exam offers computer-based testing (CBT) which includes the option for online, remote proctored examination through Prometric's ProProctor service.

Candidates typically need five years of full-time, paid work experience in one or more areas of the CCT Body of Knowledge. A waiver of up to two years of experience may be granted for candidates holding a diploma or degree from a technical school, college, or university.

The exam covers the ASQ CCT Body of Knowledge, which includes topics such as General Metrology, Measurement Systems, Calibration Systems, Measurement Uncertainty and Applied Math, and Quality Systems and Standards.

The ASQ CCT certification is valid for three years. To maintain the certification, holders must either earn 18 recertification units (RUs) within the three-year period or retake the certification exam.

The exam is a one-part, multiple-choice question exam. It is open-book, and calculators are permitted with certain restrictions. It is delivered via computer-based testing (CBT).

Recommended study materials include the official ASQ CCT Body of Knowledge, the ASQ Metrology Handbook, and practice questions or courses developed from the ASQ BoK. Candidates are allowed to bring reference materials to the exam, provided they are bound.
