The cost of the CPACC exam varies depending on IAAP membership status and location. For IAAP members, the exam fee is currently $410 USD. For non-members, it is $510 USD. There is a discounted rate of $170 USD for candidates from Emerging and Developing Economy countries. Exam fees for certifications vary by country and also influenced by local taxes and currency exchange rates.

Candidates are given two hours (120 minutes) to complete the CPACC exam. Additional time may be requested as an accommodation if needed.

The CPACC exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions.

IAAP does not publish a specific percentage passing score. Exam results are reported using a scaled score ranging from 200 to 800, with a passing score of 600.

The IAAP CPACC exam is a proctored exam. It can be taken via online remote proctoring or at a physical test center.

While there are no strict certification prerequisites, IAAP recommends that candidates have at least one year of experience in accessibility or a new/changing role with some responsibility for accessibility. Candidates with less experience may be asked to describe their background and goals related to the credential.

The CPACC exam covers three main domains: Disabilities, Challenges, and Assistive Technologies (40% of the exam); Accessibility and Universal Design (40%); and Standards, Laws, and Management Strategies (20%). These areas include understanding different types of disabilities, accessibility principles, relevant legislation, and strategies for managing accessibility within an organization.

The IAAP CPACC certification is valid for three years. To maintain the certification, individuals must earn 45 Continuing Accessibility Education Credits (CAECs) within the three-year period and pay a renewal fee (waived for active IAAP members).

The CPACC exam is a computer-based, closed-book exam consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question has four possible responses.

Recommended study materials include the CPACC Content Outline, the CPACC Body of Knowledge (BoK) document, and the resource links provided within the BoK. IAAP also lists approved certification preparation providers and offers webinars. Many candidates utilize official resources, online courses from reputable providers, and study groups for preparation.
